Liberia — Scott #300, complete mint sheet of 20 (5 rows × 4) of the 5¢ carmine issued in 1947 for the centenary of the first United States postage stamps (the CIPEX issue). Each wide-format stamp is a triptych: the US 1847 5¢ Benjamin Franklin at left and the US 1847 10¢ George Washington at right, flanking Liberia's own 1860 first-issue design — the seated figure of Liberia with a sailing ship — beneath the banner dates "1847 · 1860 · 1947," marking the first US stamps and Liberian independence (1847), Liberia's first stamps (1860), and the centenary year. Engraved and printed by the E. A. Wright Bank Note Co., Philadelphia (imprint below each stamp). Companion airmail values: Scott C54–C56. Full sheet margins intact; brilliant color throughout.
