Vintage 1930s ME Bavaria porcelain 24 piece tea set cobalt blue fruit border.

A 24 piece tea set in Bavarian porcelain, banded in rich cobalt blue with painted peaches, plums, cherries and grapes, with moulded beaded rims and gilt edges. There are four cups, eight saucers, eight side plates, two cake plates, a milk jug and a sugar bowl. The octagonal shapes and strong colour give it a real art deco look on a table. Marked ME Bavaria to the base. Made in Germany in the 1930s.

Bavaria became Germany's porcelain heartland because the Fichtelgebirge hills gave the factories both the china clay and the firewood, so dozens of potteries grew up within a few miles of one another.

Good condition with only minor wear, no chips or cracks.
