The felt is for sale, but not the box.

BACKGROUND. This listing is for rectangular “felt”. It is one of a set of 1950s promotional souvenirs distributed by American Nut and Candy in their boxes of Candy Kisses (see picture – not included in auction). They were called “football Emblems” The set consisted mostly of colleges but also included 4 prisons and one “class of 195???”. I have been able to document 94 different ones. If you are interested in any particular one, let me know. I have the entire collection including some duplicates. My prices are based upon condition and rarity.

All the felts are football themed. The art work is cartoonish as these were targeted to kids for collecting.

These are quite rare.

CONDITION.  Very nice - see photo.

SIZE. These are nominally 1 ¾ by 3 inches but vary slightly.

MATERIAL. The cloth is felt. The letters and design are silk screen or stencil.

AGE. These were made in the late 1940s or early 1950s which makes them about 70 years old. Some sellers incorrectly claim that these are from the 1930s. That is incorrect. One of the schools in the series is Bandeis University which was not founded until 1948!

NOTE. The box is NOT included. The photo is for information only.

You are buying a piece of history.  These are collector’s items.
