amazing young French tenor sax player. This was one of his earliest recordings. The CD cover reproduces the front and back cover of the original 10 inch LP. With Barney are Maurice Vander (piano), Bibi Rovere (bass), Al Levitt (drums). Recorded in Paris in 1957. The titles are Blue 'n Boogie, Nature Boy, Melancholy Baby, A Night in Tunisia, The Way You Look Tonight.

A second session has been added to this CD and with Barney are Jack Chudde (piano), Paul Revere (bass), Charles Saudrais (drums). Playing Thelonious Monk tunes: Hackensack, Blue Monk, Mysterioso, think of One. There are also alternate takes included of all these titles. The recording quality of all titles is very good and the CD itself, in a very stiff card cover, is in perfect condition.
