Description

1958 Annie Oakley Outcast of Diablo Flying A Production Script #293

Vintage Flying A Productions, Inc. script for the Annie Oakley television series titled “Outcast of Diablo,” Production No. 293.

The teleplay is credited to Robert Schaefer and Eric Freiwald, and the cast page is marked “Mimeographed 6-3-58.”

The story concerns brothers Clark and Casper Cumberland, who have been separated for approximately 25 years, and Happy Jack Payson, a scheming politician who attempts to use Casper and his reputation to his advantage.

Production No. 293 appears on the cover and interior pages. The script runs through page 43 and concludes with Scene 106, “FADE OUT” and “THE END.”

The script retains its orange textured Flying A Productions cover and three-brad binding. The cover also bears the Flying A property statement requesting that the script be returned to the reception desk after use. A small printed/typed “2” appears at the lower right of the front cover.

The construction, typography and internal production formatting appear consistent with period Flying A television-production script material.

Research has not established “Outcast of Diablo” as a broadcast Annie Oakley episode, so no claim is being made as to whether this particular teleplay was ultimately filmed or aired.
