Offered for sale here is this beautiful, antique Italian maiolica pilgrim vase by Egisto Fantachi.

This beautiful piece has satyr masks beneath the twin loop handles and it still has its stepped blue and yellow lid.  It is very finely painted with two winged putti in a forest to the front; one putti is playing a stringed instrument and the other one is holding a piece of parchment. The back is painted with a serene, lakeside scene.

The flask is marked to the base in dark blue. The mark has an upside down V inside a diamond, with 211 underneath, although I could be looking from the wrong angle! It dates from the late 19th-20th century.

The flask measures around 12 inches high, around 6 1/2 inches at widest and around 3 inches deep. It is in very good antique condition, with a small restoration on the rim of the lid and some old damage to the handles on the left. Please view all the photos provided as they form part of the description.
