Antique & Vintage Photographs

This is a silver gelatin photograph that is unmounted and is 10 x 8 inches (254x203mm).

It shows a group of men and women dancing in what appears to be a barn or studio set with wooden beams. Several couples are dancing in the foreground, with the women wearing patterned dirndl-style dresses and the men in shirts, waistcoats, and trousers, some of which are tartan.

An audience is visible in the background. Red grease pencil marks are visible on the surface of the photograph, along with handwritten numbers "15805", "SN", and "P71". The reverse of the photograph has several stamps and handwritten annotations.

A purple ink stamp reads "PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPT, SCOTTISH TELEVISION LIMITED GLASGOW TEL 041-332 9999". Another stamp reads "PICTURE LIBRARY TV TIMES". A third stamp is for "TV TIMES" and is marked "USED 11 DEC 1980".

A large number "16089/1" is stamped in the centre. Handwritten text in blue ink reads: "Thingummyjig Dancers with Jack Milroy and Back Ground AT THE 'Sonny Danny'". At the bottom, "ENT DANCING HIGHLAND" is written.
