Vintage Emeralite H.G. McFaddin Adjustable Brass Desk Lamp Base & Arm – Parts / Restoration
Vintage ornate adjustable brass desk or banker's lamp base and arm assembly, attributed to the Emeralite line manufactured by H.G. McFaddin & Co. of New York during the early 20th century. This distinctive assembly features a decorative square brass-covered base with a substantial cast-iron weight, an articulated rectangular brass arm, and adjustable swivel joints.
Manufacturer & Identification:
The assembly was identified as an Emeralite lamp base. It was compared with a surviving Emeralite Model 8734 lamp and found to match closely, except for the use of a flat-head adjustment screw instead of a thumbscrew on the upper swivel. The underside was inspected beneath the felt covering, revealing the cast-iron weight and central retaining screw. No manufacturer's markings or model numbers were found on the weight. The exact model and compatibility with other Emeralite lamps are not guaranteed.
