An exceptional and highly collectible piece of authentic mid-century medical foundation wear.

Manufactured by the renowned Akron Truss Company (originally of Akron and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio), this

"World Famous" orthopedic support girdle is an incredible example of vintage anatomical design.

Crafted from a heavy-duty, light-pink cotton and rayon blend fabric, it features vertical internal boning panels for strict abdominal and posture support. The highlight of the piece is its beautiful, mechanically functional dual fan-lacing system at the back.

Attached pull-straps slide through metal hardware loops, allowing the lacing to tighten evenly like a pulley system to stabilize the lower back and pelvis.

Excellent vintage condition. The fabric remains remarkably clean, sturdy, and structurally sound. The original embroidered woven blue brand tag is fully intact. Metal eyelets and garter clips show minimal to no oxidation. The original lacing cords are present.

The internal factory stamp reads "24 4200". Please look closely at the photos for exact cosmetic condition. It has one tac sized hole on the bottom edge and a few small spots on one pull, all noted for photos.

Measurements:

Stamped Size 24. This best fits a modern size extra-small. Please check precise dimensions before purchasing, as vintage foundation garments feature very little stretch compared to modern elastic wear.

As shown (can be adjusted with ties and pulls) the waist is 25”, Hips are 28”, and length is 14”.
