Enamel Football Badge

An attractive Darlington A.F.C. Supporters Club enamel
badge, featuring raised gold-coloured lettering and a
central stylised football design against a black background,
with pale enamel panels.

The circular design proudly displays
“DARLINGTON A.F. + SUPPORTERS CLUB +”,

This is an appealing piece of football memorabilia
associated with Darlington Football Club and its supporters.
A collectable item for followers of Darlington FC, known
affectionately as the Quakers, and for enthusiasts of
historic football clubs, enamel badges and British
 football memorabilia.

The history of Darlington Football Club
Darlington Football Club was founded in July 1883, when
representatives of several local teams met to establish
a football club for the town. The team became known
as the Quakers, a nickname associated with
Darlington's Quaker heritage.

The club originally played at Feethams, its home for more
than a century. In 2003, Darlington moved to a new stadium,
but subsequent financial difficulties led to administration
and further upheaval.

In 2012, following another financial crisis and a demotion
from the national non-league structure to the Northern
League, a supporters' group took control of the club.
The Quakers subsequently rebuilt their fortunes through
strong fan support, winning the Northern League title in
2012–13 and achieving further promotions in the
following seasons.

Darlington's history is a testament to the loyalty and determination
of its supporters, who helped preserve the club through
some exceptionally difficult years.

A Piece of Football Memorabilia

Supporters' club badges are an enjoyable area of football
collecting because they celebrate the connection between
a club and its supporters. They also preserve the changing
designs, identities and traditions of British football
over the decades.

This badge would make a welcome addition to a
Darlington FC collection, particularly alongside
programmes, tickets, photographs and other
 memorabilia relating to the Quakers.

Football badges remain an accessible way to collect
sporting history and make excellent display pieces and
talking points for supporters and collectors.
