Add a wonderfully detailed piece to a vintage Christmas train display with this 1995 New Bright Santa’s Mailbox Post Office G Scale Train Accessory Car, made for Dillard’s Trimmings. Part of New Bright’s festive Holiday Express Christmas train collection, this large G scale accessory car depicts a charming North Pole post office scene. Santa sits in his rocking chair reading Christmas mail beside a blue mailbox, sack of letters, wrapped presents and an old-fashioned streetlamp. The snow-covered post office is marked “Santa’s Mailbox” and features a postal worker at the service window.
The original packaging specifically identifies the Post Office Car as having lights and animation, making this much more than a standard rolling-stock car. The elaborate molded and painted scene was designed to come alive as part of a New Bright Holiday Express layout.
Features
The original box identifies this as part of a coordinated series of lighted G scale train cars, including Mrs. Claus’ Bakery, the Log Mill Car, and the Reindeer Car, each featuring an animated scene. Also Available – Matching Log Mill Car - I am also selling a matching vintage New Bright G Scale Log Mill train accessory from the same Christmas train collection in a separate listing. The Log Mill set includes the coordinating Log Mill Car and Tanker Car, along with G scale metal track.
These pieces were produced by the same manufacturer and for the same Holiday Express-style Christmas train system, making the two listings an excellent opportunity for a collector looking to expand or reunite components from this vintage New Bright holiday train collection.
Please see my other listings for the matching New Bright Log Mill Car.
Included
Note: This listing is for the Post Office accessory car and included components shown, not a complete Holiday Express train set. Locomotive, transformer/controller and other train cars are not included.
Condition -
Excellent vintage condition. The Post Office car presents beautifully with bright colors, clean detailed figures and attractive Christmas scenery. The wheels, couplers, electrical connection and decorative components appear well preserved. Please review the close-up photos for the exact cosmetic condition. The original box shows expected storage and shelf wear from age, including edge/corner wear, scuffing and areas of surface wear. The original molded Styrofoam packaging is included and also shows some age/storage wear.
For a 1995 Christmas train accessory that is now approximately 30 years old, the overall presentation is especially nice
