Description

Original early American Pyrex Primary Colours green mixing bowl, believed to date circa 1945–1950, with a rich green exterior and white opal-glass interior.

The base bears the early backstamp with “T.M. REG.” arched above PYREX and “U.S. PAT. OFF.” curved below. There is no model number, capacity marking, “MADE IN U.S.A.” wording or registered trademark symbol. This stamp is associated with the earliest coloured Pyrex mixing bowls, before the marking was revised around 1950.

This is the 2½-US-quart size later designated 403. The date is an estimate based on the backstamp, rather than a confirmed manufacturing year.

An attractive piece for a vintage kitchen display or to complete an existing Primary Colours nesting bowl set. This listing is for the single green bowl shown.

Measurements

Height: 10.5 cm
Diameter: 21.7 cm

Condition

Very clean and in very good vintage condition overall, particularly considering its age and previous use. The green exterior retains a lovely glossy finish, with scattered small surface marks and spots of colour wear, including around the rim. Light utensil scratches inside are consistent with use. A well-preserved example of this early Pyrex range. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
