Moonraker – Ian Fleming – First Pan Paperback Edition – 1956

Original 1956 Pan Books paperback edition of Ian Fleming’s third James Bond novel, Moonraker.

This is the first Pan paperback edition, published the year after the Jonathan Cape first edition, and is an important early Bond paperback issue. It features the distinctive illustrated cover associated with this edition and retains the original 2/- price.

Moonraker was originally published in 1955 and follows James Bond as he investigates industrialist Sir Hugo Drax and the secret surrounding the Moonraker rocket project. It remains one of Fleming’s best-known early Bond novels.

The 1956 Pan edition has become increasingly sought after by collectors of Ian Fleming, James Bond, early Pan paperbacks and vintage crime/spy fiction, particularly in original unrestored condition.

This copy shows clear age and handling wear but remains a presentable and collectible example of a scarce early Bond paperback edition.
