Please see my listings for other fine 18th-century English porcelain. I combine shipping. I have 3 sets available in this condition.
Condition:
In good antique condition for its age, with the gilt mostly intact. Some expected wear to the gilt edges and slight variations in the blue transfer print typical of early production. Sound porcelain with no chips or cracks.
About:
18th-century tea bowl and saucer set, attributed to the Caughley factory in Shropshire, England, dating to the period c. 1775–1790.
The porcelain exhibits the characteristic greyish-blue tone associated with early Caughley paste and is translucent when held to the light.
Both pieces are decorated with a classic detailed blue-and-white transfer-printed chinoiserie landscape pattern, featuring Oriental pavilions (pagodas), figures, and a bridge. This design is often referred to by collectors as the "Pagoda" or "Temple" pattern.
The rims of both the bowl and saucer are finished with scalloped edges and gilded highlights, which show some wear consistent with age.
The set is unmarked, which is typical for Caughley porcelain of this era before the factory introduced standardized marks.
