Vintage Vuarnet PX Glacier Sunglasses Leather Side Shields Cable Temples

Vintage Vuarnet PX glacier / mountaineering sunglasses dating to approximately the early-to-mid 1980s. Classic black frame with brown tinted lenses, black leather side shields, retaining cord and distinctive adjustable metal cable/hook temples. White PX logo appears at one temple and PX VUARNET branding is prominently displayed on the opposite side. This is a genuine vintage mountaineering design made to provide additional protection from intense reflected light, particularly in alpine and snow environments.

Approximately 5-1/2” wide across the front as shown. These are being sold as found from an estate and have not been restored. They show age and use including scratches/scuffs and small marks to the lenses, general wear to the frame, wear and aging to the leather side shields, and green oxidation/verdigris around a number of the metal shield rivets. Leather remains attached.

Adjustable cable-style temples and retaining cord are present. Please examine the detailed close-up photos carefully for exact cosmetic condition. No case or additional accessories are included. Exact Vuarnet model number has not been confirmed, so these are identified by the visible PX and VUARNET markings and their glacier/mountaineering configuration.
