UV Black Light: Negative to UV
Strong Direct Light: demonstrates internal patterns including random flowing “swirl”
Close-up: Shows lathe tooling & other evidence of age, internal swirl pattern, random pits, crevices
Hot Water: tea kettle hot water used to emit a light chemical smell that one may say is phenolic
Color: rich soulful red brown moves to translucent orangey yellow with strong light.
Drill Hole: Size varies somewhat from one end to the other with some beads demonstrating this more dramatically than the next. Some little chips at inside edge of opening. Diagonal slash “tool” marks on flat area that includes drill holes. Can see inside of bead color is uniform & not white or clear, etc. TWO PHOTOS BETWEEN THE GRAM SCALE & QTIP ARE OF A SINGLE BEAD SHOWING EACH END. Take notice of the differences.
