Very cool vintage Louisville Slugger baseball bat lamp. Works. Made out of a Stan Musial personal model bat. Only professional model bats have the 125 in the oval and the “Powerized” stamp. My understanding is a bat like this could only be ordered by Musial himself directly from Louisville Slugger.
These bat lamps were handmade by Hall of Fame knuckleball reliever Hoyt Wilhelm after he retired, hence his autograph on the official Rawlings National League Feeney ball. I would say this was made in the late-70s or early 80s. Another cool connection between the two players: Wilhelm gave up two of the five home runs Musial hit in one day during a double-header against the Giants on May 2, 1954.
If you’re thinking to yourself that this is a cool piece, please know you may never see another one again. Other Wilhelm-made bats are available, but he usually used his own personal model bats.
I’ll cover shipping costs and pay to insure it for the full amount.
