Up for sale is a stunning mid-to-late 20th-century Catholic wall crucifix featuring a unique modernist/neo-Romanesque relief design. The cross is intricately decorated with 12 symbolic birds (reminiscent of St. Francis of Assisi preaching to the birds), streaming towards the central figure of Christ the Triumphator (Christus Triumphans).
The crucifix is made of heavy solid brass (or bronze alloy) with a beautifully contrasted texture: smooth, polished figures set against a finely chiseled, matte background.
