Condition
Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There are scattered small chips, paint loss and rubbing along the edges of the petals and leaves, as shown in the photos. The cream and green finish has intentional antiqued shading throughout. Some additional surface wear/soiling is present. Wall hanging hardware remains attached to the back. Description
Charming vintage dimensional wall sculpture depicting a large cream magnolia blossom surrounded by deep green leaves.
The flower is modeled in unusually deep relief, with overlapping, naturally curved petals surrounding a textured green and reddish-brown magnolia center. The cream petals and green leaves have a hand-painted, intentionally antiqued finish that gives the piece a wonderfully aged botanical appearance.
The sculpture appears to be made from a cast resin or similar composite material and measures approximately 6 inches across. Unlike a shallow wall plaque, the deeply modeled petals project substantially from the wall and give the flower a very sculptural three-dimensional appearance.
An incised “TV” mark appears along one side of the piece. Research has not established the identity of the maker or artist represented by this mark, so no specific manufacturer is being attributed.
The reverse has an attached metal keyhole-style wall hanger, allowing the flower to be displayed as dimensional botanical wall décor.
A lovely piece for vintage botanical décor, cottagecore, traditional interiors, garden-inspired décor, Southern décor, floral gallery walls or a collection of dimensional flower sculptures.
