THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS! (1970) – TWO ORIGINAL AUSTRALIAN DAYBILL MOVIE POSTERS

A terrific pair of two genuine original Australian theatrical daybills for the 1970 crime drama THEY CALL ME MISTER TIBBS!, starring Sidney Poitier and Martin Landau.

This was the sequel to the Academy Award-winning In the Heat of the Night, with Sidney Poitier returning as detective Virgil Tibbs.

Also starring Barbara McNair and Anthony Zerbe, directed by Gordon Douglas, with music by Quincy Jones.

Both posters feature the striking Australian artwork showing Sidney Poitier against the Golden Gate Bridge, together with the tagline:

“The last time Virgil Tibbs had a day like this was ‘In The Heat Of The Night’”

These are genuine original 1970 Australian cinema posters, not reproductions or modern reprints.

Both carry the original Australian “SUITABLE ONLY FOR ADULTS” classification, United Artists/Transamerica credit and M.A.P.S. Litho Pty Ltd printer's mark.

Australian daybill format, approximately 13 x 30 inches (33 x 76 cm) each.

CONDITION: Both posters are folded as originally issued and retain excellent strong colour. They show vintage cinema-use wear including small pin/staple holes, minor edge and corner wear, light handling marks and normal wear along the original folds. One poster has a small area of paper disturbance near the lower border. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the condition description.
