These early issues represent the foundation of the National Geographic Society’s publishing history and contain some of the earliest scientific, geographic, and exploratory articles ever printed under the National Geographic name. The volumes are uniformly bound in brown cloth with gilt lettering, presenting attractively on the shelf. Early National Geographic volumes are increasingly scarce, especially in complete consecutive runs.
