New old stock 1959 - 62 Morris mini silver face Smiths speedometer with original box,

Here's something you don't see come up very often, an actual unused early Morris mini silver faced speedo with it's original box.

I always liked the idea of owning a 1959 mini, so collected a lot of the early mini parts that are generally missing just incase, but it never happened, so I may possibly be listing some other 1959 mini stuff at some point.

This is the very early type without the tenths display on the milometer. The milometer is displaying 2 miles, but I believe this to be from factory calibration or testing as the NOS Cream face version I also have displays the same mileage.

The needle freely moves when you tip the speedo. I haven't stuck a drill on it to test as I never felt it necessary to do so with it being NOS.

The case on this speedo is in incredible condition for it's age, there is only a tiny amount of rust that I can see near the card fuel gauge cover. You don't often come across them in this order.

Although this is unused, there is some dust / debris under the glass. The card fuel gauge cover is torn and unfortunately someone decided to peel off the bits of tape that would have sealed 2 of the light holes, these are most likely where the dust / debris got in. It was already like this when I bought it around 10 or more years ago.

The original box is a bit tatty, and one of the flaps has come off. Someone has written on the label "mini 850 Oct 61 - Apr 62", but according to a Smiths catalogue, this speedo was used from August 59 - April 62 (highlighted in last picture).
