ALIEN – Magnetic Video U.K. – Rare Early UK VHS – 3A-128

Original early UK VHS release of Ridley Scott's Alien, starring Sigourney Weaver, Tom Skerritt, John Hurt and Ian Holm.

This is the early Magnetic Video U.K. edition, catalogue number 3A-128. Magnetic Video was one of the pioneers of the prerecorded home-video market, and this edition represents the first UK home-video release of Alien, issued in the early days of VHS in Britain.

Contemporary UK trade advertising shows Magnetic Video promoting Alien as a major videocassette release in April 1981.

Condition:
This is a well-used vintage VHS dating from the very early period of UK home video and shows age-related wear.

The original printed cover insert has visible edge wear, rubbing, creasing and some deterioration, particularly along the upper edge and corners. The cassette has its original Magnetic Video U.K. labels, with age-related marks and old stickers as clearly shown in the photographs.

Please note: the white plastic clamshell case is not believed to be the original case supplied with this release. The inside of the case carries a Walt Disney embossing, so it appears that the original Magnetic Video cover insert and cassette have at some stage been placed into a replacement Disney case. This is clearly photographed and is reflected in the description.

The cassette and original Magnetic Video U.K. cover artwork are the important collectible components of this listing.
