This is a rather uncommon Ansonia Clock Co. "Cabinet Antique No. 1" Mantel Clock, believed to originate from around 1901.
It showcases an oak case complemented by polished brass trim and brass mounts, housing an 8-day spring-driven time and strike movement. Both the dial and the movement bear signatures, and it strikes on a large, over-mounted bell, producing a sound quite reminiscent of a longcase clock. The measurements of the clock are 18 1/2 x 11 3/4 x 7 1/2 inches.
The clock generally presents in very good condition, having preserved its original finish. Although it is presently functioning, it would likely benefit from a professional service, and the case will require cleaning.
