The unit is marked R.H. Wilder Inc. / Opto-Metric Tools Inc. It appears to be an X-Y micrometer stage for a small parts comparator, microscope, or optical inspection setup. The micrometer adjustment knobs turn freely and extend/retract the stems, and the X/Y stage does move when adjusted. This has only been checked for basic movement and has not been calibrated or tested for measurement accuracy.
