Stamped in the reverse of the backplate WT & S and the number 5383 plus diamond date stamp which reads F M 18 3
The National Archives' decoding tables give:
F = 1847 (year)
M = June (month)
18 = 18th day
3 = bundle/parcel number
This appears to indicate a production date of 1847 although this may not be exact.
The turn latch mechanism is free moving.
The lock is missing its key.
The lock is warded.

Knob: 60 mm wide
Knob height/projection: about 70 mm
