Vintage 1930s Round Leather Collar Box – used at Bradfield College, Reading, UK
A beautiful, authentic vintage late 1930s men's round leather collar box. This classic pre-war container features a lovely distressed brown leather exterior highlighting decades of genuine character, paired with a clean, mustard-tan textured interior lining.
Provenance & Historical School Connection:
This item has fantastic provenance, having been kept in the family since new. It was used by my father during his school days at the Bradfield College near Reading, Berkshire in the late 1930s/1940s. At the time, stiff detachable collars were a strict requirement of the public school uniform, making this box a vital piece of his daily boarding school kit. It offers a wonderful, genuine personal connection to pre-war British school history.
The box comes complete with its original top strap and a functional metal buckle closure. The stitching remains intact along the edges, adding to its rugged charm. It is a fantastic decorative or functional piece for collectors of gentleman's vanity items, vintage travel cases, public school memorabilia, or antique leather goods. It works brilliantly today as a unique storage container for jewelry, watches, or small accessories.

Condition Details:
The leather exterior shows an attractive, authentic patina with age-appropriate surface cracking, scuffs, and wear as shown in the photos. The interior is very clean (no staining inside from old collar starch or dampness) and lining shows some light, authentic age-related foxing/spotting, which is perfectly normal for a genuine pre-war piece and does not affect storage. The buckle mechanism is functional. Please inspect the images carefully to assess the vintage condition.
