Edith Lovell Andrews (1886-1980) Edith was born in Newport, Monmouthshire, and received her education at the Forest Gate Collegiate School. She attended the Worcester School of Art from 1903 to 1907, followed by two years at the Glasgow School of Art. She then studied at Heatherley’s School of Art in London until 1914.

Her work was widely exhibited in international exhibitions, including shows in Canada, Stockholm, and Turin, as well as across Britain, particularly in St Ives, where she resided. Andrews became a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and held a solo exhibition in 1957. Examples of her work are housed in the British Museum.

I have acquired a body of work by Edith Andrews, to include life drawings, landscape watercolours and other works on paper. The last image shows part of the whole collection. This listing is for the artists sketchbook, as detailed below.

A sketchbook of quick Cornish pencil drawings, inscribed to the back of the front cover 'E. Lovell Andrews, 2 Bellair Terrace, Cornwall July 1956-61'. Many of the drawing are dated. resonable /aged condition. the spine has come away from the pages, age toning, a few tiny foxing spots, slight rippling/creases/handling. The cover is in used condition with fading, watermarks etc..
