Condition

This set is built the way a golfer who actually plays would build one. The long clubs are XXIO 7th generation, Dunlop's premium Japanese line, and they still carry their factory spec stickers: the driver reads 45.5 inches, 10.5 degrees, R, the 5 wood 42 inches, 18 degrees, R, and the 7 wood 41.5 inches, 20 degrees, R. Being able to read the exact build off the shaft is rare on a used set and takes the guesswork out of it. Below them are five XXIO irons, 5 through 9, on matching MP700 graphite in R flex. Then comes the part that makes this set worth looking at twice: instead of the usual pitching and sand wedge that come with a starter set, the scoring clubs are three FOURTEEN MT-28 wedges at 50, 52 and 58 degrees. FOURTEEN is a specialist Japanese wedge maker and the MT-28 is the model that made their name, a genuine short-game club rather than a matching set filler, and all three are on steel shafts for control. Three lofts through the scoring range means proper distance gaps from 100 yards in. The putter is a mallet from another maker, also steel. Condition is good throughout: the crowns are glossy with light marks from play and no dents, the iron and wedge faces show honest ball marks inside the grooves, and the shafts are straight with no rust. The grips are a mix - four still carry the XXIO branding, one wedge has a red Golf Pride grip and the rest are plain black replacements, and all of them are still firm enough to play.
