Wonderful early vintage/antique red knit bathing suit featuring a tank-style upper portion with attached shorts underneath and cream striped detailing along the lower edges.

The interior retains two particularly interesting labels:

• Frances Marie Kessler sewn name label

• Spalding black manufacturer’s label marked “Highest Quality” and “Made in U.S.A.”

The suit also features a button closure at the shoulder.

This piece shows considerable wear from age, including scattered holes, fabric loss, repairs/mending, staining/discoloration and general wear. Despite the condition, it has a fantastic authentic aged appearance and would make a great addition to a collection of antique swimwear, early sporting apparel, fashion history, Spalding memorabilia, or a vintage clothing display.
