Vintage Mother of Pearl & Abalone Shell Mosaic Box Evening Bag

A striking vintage structured evening bag featuring an intricate hand-worked style mosaic of pearlescent shell with highly iridescent abalone-style geometric detailing.

The shell panels are surrounded by an exceptionally decorative silver-tone metal frame with repeating embossed detailing. The decoration continues around the sides of the bag.

The bag has a rigid box construction with a hinged opening, black fabric-lined interior and long silver-tone chain strap, allowing it to be carried as a clutch or worn from the shoulder.

The natural shell catches the light beautifully, producing flashes of pink, green, blue, gold and pearl.

Condition: Vintage/pre-owned condition with age-related marks and wear. Interior shows some signs of age/use. The shell mosaic and decorative exterior present very well overall. Please study all photographs closely as they form part of the description.
