A natural Japanese finishing stone (tennen toishi / awasedo) from Kyoto, the historic center of Japan's natural sharpening stone tradition. Weight approx. 702 g, hard grade, with asagi (pale blue-grey) and suita characteristics. It produces a dark slurry when sharpening - a sign of fine polishing ability prized for kitchen knives, chisels, planes and razors. Dimensions are shown measured in the photos. Attribution as Kyoto-produced (Shohonyama-type) awasedo is based on the seller's description — believed to be, not guaranteed.

Used, sold as-is. The working surface has been roughly flattened, but we recommend a light re-flattening before precision use. The bottom may remain in a natural rough-cut state, and shape irregularities may be present. Please review all 11 photos very carefully - they form the primary description of size and condition.
