Offered for your consideration is an exceptional Saber Bayonet for the Remington Contract M1862 Rifle, aka the “Zouave” Rifle, with scabbard.  Identification of this arm is confirmed by the BH (Benjamin Harris) stamped into the top of the hilt, unique to this arm.  This is easily a 98% arm with some slight pitting (see photos) on the reverse ricasso and a little on the obverse ricasso.  The main blade is immaculate.  Slips on the rifle without issue. The scabbard, well it is a little less noteworthy.  The fittings are firmly fixed and the body is without tears and the seam is tight.  Looks like it might have been given a coat of black paint sometime in the past.  Best thing I can say is its in about average condition, no where near the condition of the arm is contains.
