The two truck plates are made of steel and are in nice original condition with signs of use and age - see photos for details.
The interesting part is that someone bolted the 1949 plate on top of the 1948 plate 78 years ago. With only one bolt holding them together, the top plate can easily rotate onto the bottom plate. Obviously they could be taken apart, but I will leave that decision to the next owner.
