A vintage 1960s Japanese novelty letter opener with a combined retractable tape measure.

The handle features Art of Chokin style decoration depicting a Japanese castle, probably Himeji. The blade is made of stainless steel.

The metal tape is marked with centimetre graduations on one side and inch graduations on the other, extending to 150 cm (60 inches).

Condition: Excellent vintage condition with minor signs of age and use. Fully functional. The tape has been checked and extends to its full 60-inch length, retracting smoothly with strong spring tension.
