Rare antique Annamese blue & white porcelain smoking pipe bowl. Circa 1800s. 

The large crackle glazed porcelain pipe bowl is decorated with floral design under the crackled glaze.

Mounted on copper rings.

The decorations were originated in China hence the Chinese style painting and motif. The porcelain making technique was influence by China.

China ruled Vietnam over a thousand years from before the 10th century and again during the Ming Dynasty (13th-15th Century). 

Throughout the years under the Chinese rule, Vietnam assimilated many Chinese cultures and its languages. 

Vietnam became Annam in the 1800s, when this pipe was made.

Overall condition is excellent. No chip no crack. The brass dipper has been replaced recently.
