NOTE: Super high end, freshly graded specimen. Pop 3 in grade with none graded higher. This is as good as it gets! I had a Vlad with similar centering on the back land in a 10, this one is really nice and sharp for the grade. Thanks. 

This listing is for a single from the highly challenging 2001 Topps Chrome Retrofractor parallel set. The set was highly condition sensitive and extremely prone to chipping on back, and refractor lines and scratching on the front. I have a batch of stars freshly back from PSA, all graded very strictly. They present wonderfully for the grade - this is one of the few 8's that I managed to land! Thanks for looking. 

Retrofractors, at least for 2001, replaced the standard refractor parallel in the 2001 Topps Chrome set. My guess is this had something to do with the 2001 Topps Heritage Chrome set and how the card stock that year was made to affect a vintage look - but I would welcome a fellow baseball card nerd with a more nuanced history than I to opine on that :) 

Each of the singles I am listing from 2001 Topps Chrome Retrofractors are very nice for the issue. Usually some chipping on the back edges but generally a really nice, crisp, clean card front with sharp corners, gorgeous refractor front surface, and nice centering which is not often a given for the issue. I think NM-MT is a reasonable overall grade for the cards that I have up. Some may have a refractor line evident which is common for about 30% of the cards that I have seen. I am using a high speed scanner to process photos so if there is an artifact on the photo that is likely why. It is a volume operation here!
