1942 WWII Philadelphia Fairhill VFW Post 2385 War Bonds Booth 8x10 Photograph
Original WWII-era 8 x 10-inch black-and-white photograph showing the Fairhill Auxiliary of VFW Post 2385 operating a War Bonds and Savings Stamps booth in Philadelphia. The elaborate home-front display reads “Back Up Our Boys,” “Buy U.S. War Saving Stamps and Bonds Here” and “This Booth Is in Charge of Volunteer Workers of the Fairhill Auxiliary Post 2385 V.F.W.” A recognizable 1942 I Gave a Man! War Bonds poster appears behind the booth. The man completing paperwork is identified in period handwriting on the front and reverse as William F. Nichols Sr., a Philadelphia WWI veteran associated with the 108th Field Artillery and 28th Division. Nice original glossy 8" x 10" photo. ID of soldier is on reverse;. Photo has some surface soiling and some minor edge wear. Good condition.
