 Up for sale is The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien! This is the story of the Elder Days or the First Age of Tolkien’s world before the classic Lord of the Rings trilogy. This is a vintage paperback book published by Ballantine Books as No. 27255. The book is identified as the “First Ballantine Books Edition March 1979” and is the rare First Printing with no additional printings noted on the copyright page. As shown in the photos, the book is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling, including some stress lines along the spine, 1½” bottom split on its front, and a clipped corner on the back. The book is complete and remains well bound. It has clean pages with some small corner bends/creases near the end and no writing, rips, or tears. This classic J.R.R. Tolkien paperback novel would make a great addition to your collection!
