The Axis has been doing its own thing since the early '90s. While plenty of guitars have come and gone chasing the latest trend, this one has barely changed. Turns out when you get the important stuff right the first time, there's nothing to fix.

This particular example is exactly why. The quilt maple top is loaded with tight, even figuring from edge to edge, but the real surprise is the master-grade roasted flame maple neck and fingerboard. The flame is outrageously tight and remarkably consistent from the headstock all the way to the heel, with a fingerboard that matches it beautifully. It's an exceptional set of wood, and together with the quilt top, gives this guitar a level of visual presence you rarely see on a production instrument.

Beyond the wood, everything that has made the Axis a favourite for decades is here. The signature asymmetric neck profile feels instantly familiar in your hand, while the basswood body and custom DiMarzio humbuckers deliver everything from warm, articulate cleans to tight, punchy rock tones. Add the Music Man vintage-style tremolo, locking Schaller tuners, stainless steel frets, and impeccable build quality, and it's easy to see why this design has stood the test of time.
