A beautiful hand- decorated antique Victorian teapot and tall jug set. Made from red clay with a black body with gilt decoration to the handles, rims and spouts. It has been over-painted in green, gold, pale blue and touches of orange. The paint has been applied in such a way that it can be easily felt with the fingers, particularly the orange and blue enamel paints. Very similar in look to Jackfield teapots though without the frilly bits.

9cm in depth and 15 cm high.

CONDITION

There is a restored crack to the rim near the spout (shown clearly in the last photograph). Aside from the restoration, the jug displays only age-related wear to the gilding and remains an attractive decorative piece.
