Terrific Early 20th Century Edwardian
Silver Plated Fox Head Pocket Vesta
Instinctively we date this excellent
vesta to the Edwardian era of the early 20th century; say 1900
through 1910. It is unmarked but has all the styling and appeal of having been
made by a British plate ware manufacturer. Tests confirm it is silverplated.
It is in the classic form of a fox hear
with terrific detail to the fox’s facial features and its fur. The end of the
neck has a hinged cap to access the wax vesta and a striker plate to spark
them.
We have listed other collectable pieces, silver, antique & vintage
fine jewellery and watches this week, please refer to our other listings.
The vesta is very good antique condition, no issues, damage or faults to
report, some light wear commensurate with age. The images show the condition
far better than we can detail, please study these carefully; they are part of
the description and condition report.
