A Very Nice Vintage Chinese Red Lacquer Barrel-Form Stool

A lovely example, with an elegant rounded form and with three large shaped holes.

The red lacquer exterior contrasting nicely with the black interior.....and with a beautifully hand-incised and painted designs of scrolling Indian lotus.....the upper surface with a song bird amid Chrysanthemum blooms: classic Chinese motifs.

This lovely stool is vintage and dates to the first half of the 20th century. 

A great decorators piece, these stools make for great occasional tables or can even be employed as stands for a favoured pot, ornament or plant.

This one is priced to sell - great value.

10 inches diameter across the upper surface.
17 inches high.


Condition:

In good, used vintage condition. No major or unsightly faults. A little wear to the feet, as clearly shown. Minor wear and chipping away to the edges of the shaped holes to the side. Structurally sound. Good clean upper surface - minimal wear or scraping (as shown). Displays very nicely. Smart object.
