Autopoint Calendaire 1930s Bakelite Desk Water Center Art Deco Sexton Foods, CHI
Nice vintage bakelite Autopoint
desk calendar/weather center. The streamline art
deco piece was made by the Autopoint Co. in Chicago and features a
hygrometer, thermometer and desk calendar function. There is an original inscription on the top of
the piece above the calendar function. The inscription is for the "Sexton Quality Foods" company, also out of Chicago, Illinois.
Some of the top graphic is rubbed off. There are no chips, cracks or damage to the piece. Temperature control works; I cannot attest to the accuracy of the hygrometer function. The calendar function great, knobs turn very smoothly. The NUMBER 2 on the second digit of the date is gone, and 1 is half-gone. So the 12th or 22nd of any month will only be able to read 1BLANK or 2BLANK.
The desk calendar is 6-5/8"L x 4.5"W x 2.25"H.
Any observable flaws are photographed in closeups. See all photos as they serve to document condition and measurements.
