Set of 4 George III sterling silver open salts. Made by Hester Bateman in London in 1788. Each: Oval bowl on stepped and same foot. Bright-cut garland interspersed with three patera-inset open rondels and fourth sold rondel engraved with script monogram; between pointille and pierced leaf borders. Beading. Cobalt glass liner. Fully marked. Very good condition. One liner has tiny nick.
