Antique STANLEY RULE & LEVEL Co Smooth 9 inch Pre-Lateral Bailey's Patent 1867 Rosewood Handles - VERY RARE!!

Item is in Good used condition.  
Rosewood knob and handle are in good condition, with small chip on handle.  
Minor scratches on base, rust and surface wear.

A Stanley Bailey 9 inch Smooth Bench Plane. This is a Pre-Lateral model, dating back to the 1870's or early 1880's. It lacks the lateral adjustment lever introduced in later types(after 1885).  And has the recessed brass adjustment wheel, enscribed with Bailey's Patent dates.

Key Features & Markings: 

Sole Dimensions: Measures approximately 9 inches overall length with a smooth sole. 

Cutting Iron: Stamped with the classic arched "STANLEY RULE & LEVEL CO." logo. 

Cap Iron / Chip Breaker: Stamped with "L. BAILEY'S PATENT DEC. 24 1867". 

Pre-Lateral Design: No lateral adjustment lever. 

Hardware: Features recessed brass adjustment wheel, enscribed with Bailey's Patent dates 

Woodwork: Original Rosewood
