This is a rear window defogger / defroster motor as was used on a wide variety of GM cars during the years of 1962 1963 1964 1965 1966 1967 1968. It was used specifically on cars such as the Buick Riviera / Electra, Oldsmobile 98 / 88/ Toronado, Cadillac DeVille / Eldorado / Calais, and many other Pontiac and Chevrolet cars of the period. I'm pretty sure this came out of a '67 or '68 Eldorado since it was stored with my Eldorado parts.
Note that this motor could also be used on later year GM cars (1969, 1970, 1971 etc), but the motor of those later year defoggers is smaller in physical size (and either silver in color or painted black). You'll note that this motor is of much larger diameter and is sort of wrinkle finished. If originality matters... this is the one to get for the earlier year GM cars.
Now for the really good news. I bench tested this with a 12 volt battery and it ran strong, smooth, fast, and QUIET. No squeaks or rattles of other issues. I did blow the dirt out of the fan cage with the air compressor, but that's all I've done with it. This part is nearing 60 years old so of course I can't warranty; I can only confirm that right now it runs superbly well. See photos for current condition... no wiring or other pieces are included... just the ground wire you see. Note that the ground wire has a small splice in it that's been taped; not easy to see.
