This is a beautiful antique/vintage Chinese champlevé enamel on brass footed box, dating from the early-to-mid 20th century (Republic Period).

The lid features a highly detailed, deeply textured champlevé design depicting elements of the Eight Buddhist Treasures (Ashtamangala), including stylized scrolls, a sacred vase, and a central pink lotus blossom on a rich green scrolling vine background. The heavy brass border is cast with a lovely relief pattern of vines and foliage.
