Original two-piece U.S. Army Pacific Theater lot consisting of a SECRET Daily Intelligence Summary dated June 29, 1943 and its companion Dutch New Guinea/New Britain operations map. Issued by Headquarters, 40th Coast Artillery Brigade (AA), APO 929, the report covers current Allied operations and intelligence from the Southwest Pacific, including Mubo, Ramu Valley, Rapopo Airdrome, Cape Gloucester, and Guadalcanal. The accompanying operational map highlights many of the same strategic locations, including Mubo, Lae, Salamaua, Cape Gloucester, Rabaul, and Gasmata, creating an excellent period pairing for the New Guinea campaign. The summary bears the name of Col. A. Lester Henderson, a senior U.S. Army Coast Artillery officer who served in the Southwest Pacific and later authored the wartime article "An AA Battalion in SWPA," based on his New Guinea service. Nice secret WWII USA Army briefing with accompanying map with Colored pencil notations.  Map measures about 13" x 8", the briefing measures about 8.5" x 10.5".  Original with some age toning and edge wear to both.  Not brittle. Good condition.
