I believe this steering box is from a 48-52 Ford truck. I am not sure of the model but I would guess something like an F3 or F4.
It is the sane basic design as an F1 box but is larger all around. The steering shaft is cut but there is plenty left to weld whatever shaft you want onto it.
The box turns pretty decent. There is no slop in the box at center but it does feel a little tight at center. There is also no oil in it so I am sure that doesn't help. I think it can he cleaned, readjusted and used.
The frame mounting flange was machined off as it was going to be used in a hotrod build but the owner ended up going a different route. It is 4.75 turns lock to lock. Includes the pitman arm and a few extra bits.
